San Geronimo Fort
This fort is located right behind the Caribe Hilton hotel. It was initially built in 1587 under the name of El Boqueron battery to protect a bay entry into the island. It helped defend San Juan from the attack of Sir Francis Drake but it was destroyed during the attack of Cumberland in 1598. It was rebuilt in 1608 and re-named with its current name in 1609.
